Chains, snow tires required on few California mountain highways

The Nevada Department of Transportation at 6:21 a.m. reports the following road controls in Northern Nevada:

Highway 395 " High wind warning in Washoe Valley; campers and trailers not advised for 6 miles between East Lake Boulevard and Winters Ranch.

SR 89 " Snow tires or chains required for 7.7 miles between 2.8 miles north of Highway 50 and Bliss State Park.

Snow tires or chains required for 13.4 miles between SR 28 at Tahoe City and Interstate 80 at Truckee.

Snow tires or chains required for 9.1 miles between 4.9 miles north of Truckee and 14 miles north of Truckee.

SR 28 " Snow tires or chains required for 4 miles between 4 miles north of Tahoe City and Tahoe City.

SR 431 " Chains or snow tires required for 12.6 miles between SR 28 and 11.9 miles south of Highway 395.

Areas of utility work continue on Carson City streets, most notably on Fairview Drive from Silver Sage to South Edmonds, and on Highway 50 East from Saliman Road to Airport Road.

Highway 50 East roadwork is primarily from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Expect delays in both areas; please drive carefully.
