Fernley's four-run fifth inning put the Dayton softball team in a hole it couldn't climb out of, as the Vaqueros took a 7-2 win Friday at Fernley High School.

Dayton starter McKenzie Cole pitched a complete game, giving up seven runs (six earned) and eights hits, while walking none and striking out seven.

Cole, Brittany Hill, Sierra Barnwell, Breann DeHaven and Miriah Collins each got a hit for Dayton, which fell to 7-2 overall and 6-1 in league play.
