Thursday is the 2008 CHS Student Showcase. It will run from 6-7 p.m. in the Tech Center. At the Student Showcase Event, students will have the opportunity to show off their portfolios, résumés, and best work to community members, family, friends, and local businesses. Finally, CHS will run a school-wide fundraiser throughout the week. CHS Student Council is supporting Tiny Toes and will collect socks for infants to juveniles to be donated to the pediatrics ward at the hospital. If you are interested in donating please contact Jen Tartan.

In this week's honors, we highlight the NJROTC, which won an award. The Commander, Naval Service Training Command, recently announced that the Carson High School Naval Junior ROTC Unit has been selected as a distinguished unit with academic honors for the past school year. Principals of schools with this distinction will have three nominations to each of the major federal service academic for the next school year. Competing with over sixty NJROTC units at high schools in the western United States, Carson was one of four units in Nevada earning this award.
