Appeal Staff Report

Carson High students Nicholas Gesick and Rachel Kilgore were the winners of this year's Dick Stoddard Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship is given in honor of Stoddard, who played basketball and golf at Carson before dying of cancer. The scholarship is offered to students who represent the ideals of Stoddard and as part of the selection criteria, students write an essay covering the adversity they've had to overcome.
