Melanie Young tracked me down and asked when the Taste of Downtown is. Her husband won tickets and she doesn't want to miss all the great food and entertainment.

I can't agree more. This event each year is so much fun, the town turns into an enchanted village. I really think this is one event I don't ever miss.

Last year, I caught up with Dave Prehm and found out that his children Steven and Sarah are not children but young adults.

Wow! That's what it's all about - bumping into great friends and enjoying Carson City at its best.

The food is exceptional, the bands are terrific and the atmosphere magical.

It really makes you proud to be part of this wonderful event, helping Advocates to End Domestic Violence raise funds so they may continue assisting battered women and children within our community.

Get your tickets now, and if you want to volunteer they can always use the help! A huge thank you to all the gracious restaurants that participate each year.

I'm thinking Lady Tamales with some Killer Salsa. Mmmmmm! Can't wait!
