Fifth Street from Fairview Drive to Saliman Road will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday through Monday, Oct. 24-27.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Lompa Lane, primarily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

The closure of westbound Fairview Drive from Saliman Road to Roop Street is still in effect. Alternate routes of travel are Colorado Street to the south, and Little Lane to the north.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

Resurfacing continues on Highway 50; traffic controls are in effect during all hours of the day with lane variations and reductions. Work includes paving, miscellaneous construction, speed limits, flaggers and possible delays.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 5:57 a.m. all roads open with no controls.
