Michael R. "Bob" Merritt Jr., 18, a senior at Douglas High School, passed away suddenly Oct. 28, 2008 in Carson City. He was born on June 16, 1990 in Logan, Utah, to Michael and Rebecca Merritt.
Bob was a member of the Carson Valley First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints in Minden. He was in R.O.T.C. at Douglas High and also had played football and was on the wrestling team. Bob loved his guitar and enjoyed heavy metal music.
Among his survivors are his parents Michael and Rebecca Merritt of Carson City; grandparents Robert and Sandra Merritt of Afton, Wyo., Joseph and Ida Vay Grammer of Idaho and Valerie and Larry Johnson of Orem, Utah; one sister Jessica and two brothers Sean and C.J. all of Carson City.
Viewing will be noon-1 p.m. in the Relief Society Room. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Monday, Carson Valley First Ward of L.D.S. Church. Burial will be in Eastside Memorial Cemetery, Gardnerville.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
