Opening ceremony for new park; Schoolhouse Rock! on stage

Grand Opening of Ronald D. Wilson Memorial Park, 5 p.m. at intersection of Mark Way and James Drive in north Carson City.

A 5-acre neighborhood park with large playground, slides, climbing rock, nearby picnic area with canopy, concrete walking paths and more. Wilson family will be present at opening ceremony. Dogs allowed but must be on leash at all times; dog drinking fountain provided.

Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. performed at 7 p.m. today and Saturday at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King St.
