Program coordintor express appreciation

Recently, the local 20/30 club hosted a fundraiser at the Brewery Arts Center which benefited Carson City School District's Kids in Transition program. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all who supported and contributed to the success of this event. The lives of so many local children will be positively impacted because you cared.

There are hundreds of children in Carson City whose living situations are compromised because of severe economic hardship. Through support such as that shown by the 20/30 club, we are able to provide these children with clothing, shoes, school supplies, personal hygiene products, and many other necessary items. With their support, we are able to promote participation in various programs and pursuits that will help the children succeed as they mature into adulthood.

Thank you to the fine folks at the Brewery Arts Center, and to Heidi Schneider who is to be commended for her efforts in coordinating this event. I know she is supported by many, many talented people whose efforts are often anonymous and unsung. The Carson City School District's Board of Trustees and leadership thank each of you. Through your efforts, we are witness to the fulfillment of the mission statement of the Carson City 20/30 club, as young adults are provided "an opportunity for personal growth, friendships, and leadership-development while improving the quality of life for the special needs of children" in this community. It is so true that never is an adult as tall as when he or she kneels down to help a child.

On behalf of the kids, thanks again.
