Carson River cleanup effort slated for Saturday

Saturday, dozens of volunteers will join with the Bureau of Land Management and Carson City Kiwanis Club to clean up trash from the Carson River area and Prison Hill. To take part, call BLM at 885-6000 or Kiwanis Club at 885-7302 or at 882-3075. The clean-up begins with check-in at 8 a.m. at the BLM offices at 5665 Morgan Mill Rd. A free lunch will be provided to the volunteers at 1 p.m. in the BLM parking lot. Volunteers younger than age 18 will need a signed permission slip, available at the work sites, from their parent or guardian.
