Kurt Chandler, 77, a Carson City resident, passed away Sept. 18, 2008. Kurt was the founder of Eagle Valley Frames, a chain of picture frame and art stores in Northern Nevada and California. He lived a life of all business with lots of fun in the mix. For those that were close to him they knew his wonderful loving huge heart.

Throughout his lifetime he was an entrepreneur until the day he left us. Kurt was born in Olive, Okla. Feb. 11, 1931. His family migrated to Southern California where he started a restaurant and a chain of TV/Stereo stores (Chandler TV and Stereo). Kurt moved to Carson City in 1979 where he started Eagle Valley Frames. In 1988, Kurt donated all the kitchen equipment to F.I.S.H. (Friends in Service Helping) so that they could help feed the needs of thousands of people. Kurt worked throughout his entire life. The last year of his life was put towards helping people by becoming the Food Bank Manager at F.I.S.H.

He left behind a loving wife Janet Chandler, two younger brothers, three daughters, one son, one stepson, eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter. As Kurt would say it best - "keep the positive attitude and make things happen."

Kurt, Dad, we love you and will miss you deeply. Rest in peace. In memory of Kurt Chandler please make donations to F.I.S.H. of Carson City.
