Betty Jean Crosby-Horton born June 27, 1944 passed away Sept. 20, 2008 after a long battle with cancer.

Betty grew up in Carson City and moved to Reno in 1962 to start her family.

She retired from the Nevada Division of Wildlife in 1999. She took great pride in her work with the Organization of Wildlife Planners and the Federal Aid Coordinators of the US Fish and Wildlife Services in various states.

Betty loved to travel and always referred to herself as a "World Traveler". She volunteered her travel experience at the Carson City Senior Center by planning many enjoyable trips locally and in California. Also with her association with Collette Vacations was able to offer nationwide and worldwide tours while raising money for the senior programs at the Carson City Senior Center. Betty studied philosophy and her beliefs of positive life, enlightenment and unconditional love has touched many people in her lifetime. Betty will be truly missed.

Surviving family members are parents Don and Dorothy Crosby of Carson City; sisters Carol Harlan of Carson City and Mary Barry of Reno; daughter Sandy Leonard of Reno; son and daughter-in-law Paul and Elena Horton of Fernley; five nieces and nephews; several cousins and five grandchildren.

Per Betty's request there will be no services, however donations in her memory are welcome to the Nevada Cancer Institute at 1301 N McCarran Blvd, Suite 101 Sparks NV 89434
