Celebrate Astronomy at WNC with star party

To celebrate the International Year of Astronomy Western Nevada College continues to offer a free star party and astronomical lecture at the observatory from dusk-11 p.m., every Saturday at the Jack C. Davis Observatory, 2201 W. College Parkway. The public is invited to look through various telescopes operated by volunteer members of the Western Nevada Astronomical Society. Kiwanis needs Easter egg volunteers

The Carson City Kiwanis needs volunteers 8 a.m.- noon, Saturday, April 4 to help color and stuff 20,000 eggs at the American Family Insurance office, 1621 Highway 50 E. Volunteers will also be needed 8 a.m. Saturday, April 11 at Centennial softball fields to start spreading the eggs, crowd control and to assist the kids. For information, call 885-9542.

Karson Kruzers to meet and plan for car show

Karson Kruzers will meet 4:30 p.m., Sunday, April 5 at Round Table Pizza, 3325 Retail Drive. The club is open to all vehicles and years. Applications now being taken for annual "Run What Cha Brung" car show. For information, call 882-0927.

Emotional Freedom Techniques Workshop

Barton University hosts an Introduction and Intermediate Emotional Freedom Techniques Workshop, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, April 18 at The Bodhi Tree Center for Healing Arts, 3107 N. Deer Run Road, Suite 6. An Introduction to EFT will be 9 am.-noon; Intermediate EFT will be 1-4 p.m. Get inspired to change negative behaviors permanently. Pre-registration is mandatory. Nevada Women's History Project hosts luncheon

The Nevada Women's History Project hosts Bob Nylen, Curator for the Nevada State Museum, and a luncheon, 10 a.m., Saturday, April 18 at the Nevada State Library and Archives, 100 N. Stewart St. The program will focus on women workers at the Carson City U.S. Branch Mint. Cost is $20 per person. Reservations are required. Call 826-3612 or 853-3200.
