Senior menus for 4-20

Note: Menus are for the week of April 20 and are subject to change without notice. Choice of beverage is included.


The lunch menu for the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Dr.:

Monday: Italian chicken, au gratin potatoes, cauliflower, Mandarin oranges.

Tuesday: Baked pork chop, stuffing, peas, fresh fruit salad.

Wednesday: Chili dog, vegetable soup, orange Jell-O with mixed fruit, oatmeal cookie.

Thursday: Baked cod with dill sauce, parsley potatoes, baby carrots, banana, whole wheat bread, apple butter.

Friday: Cabbage roll, linguini, spring salad, grapes, whole wheat roll, margarine.


The lunch menu for the Dayton Senior Center, 320 Old Dayton Valley Road:

Monday: Pork chop, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, applesauce, bread, chocolate pudding.

Tuesday: Chicken with mushroom sauce, stuffing, mixed veggies, roll, Ambrosia.

Wednesday: Beef pot pie, green beans with mushrooms, whole wheat roll with margarine, fruit cup, sherbet.

Thursday: Sloppy Joes on wheat bun, baked beans, baby carrots, fruit cocktail.

Friday: Biscuits and gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs, pears, V8 and orange juice.


The lunch menu for the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane:

Monday: Sloppy Joe with bun, onion roasted potatoes, baby carrots, celery sticks, yogurt dip, baked bananas.

Tuesday: Chili relleno casserole, honey lime salad, refried beans, Spanish rice, citrus twist trifle.

Wednesday: Beef with broccoli, veggie chow mein, apple nut slaw, orange-pineapple juice, fortune cookie, chocolate pudding cup.

Thursday: Chicken pasta, herbed veggie medley, chopped fresh spinach with honey dressing, garlic bread, spiced applesauce.

Friday: Combination pizza, Greek salad, fresh pineapple, banana splits.


The dinner menu for the Silver Springs Senior Center, 1050 Pyramid Ave.:

Monday: Crab salad, cantaloupe, beets, Saltines, sherbet, cake.

Tuesday: Vegetable soup, tuna, macaroni salad, tomatoes, beets, cucumbers, orange, rice pudding.

Wednesday: Baked chicken, rosemary potatoes, Brussels sprouts, bread, mixed fruit.

Thursday: Macaroni and cheese with ham, veggie salad, raspberry-cranberry salad, roll.

Friday: Waffle bar, strawberry, blueberry, bacon, scrambled eggs, V8.


The Storey County Senior Citizens Center is located on the corner of E and Mill streets in Virginia City:

Monday: Chicken pot pie, spinach salad, baked apples.

Tuesday: Pizza buffet, pasta salad, green salad, melon chunks.

Wednesday: Roast, scalloped potatoes, applesauce, dressing, cookies.

Thursday: Chili con carne, cornbread, green salad.

Friday: Bratwurst, German potato salad, red cabbage.


The Yerington Senior Center is at 117 Tilson Way:

Monday: Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with country gravy, fruit, cookies.

Tuesday: Meatloaf, half baked potato, pickled beets, pea salad, bread, fruit dish, lemon bisque.

Wednesday: Turkey tetrazinni, salad, veggies, biscuits, Jell-O with fruit.

Thursday: Barbecue beef sandwich, corn on the cob, coleslaw, sherbet.

Friday: Breakfast, 8:30-9:30 a.m. Quiche, potatoes, fresh fruit, juice, cranberry muffins.


Lunch is served on weekdays at Fernley Center, 1170 W. Newlands Dr.:

Monday: Hamburger steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, broccoli and cauliflower, pears.

Tuesday: Barbecue chicken, baked acorn squash, cucumbers in sour cream, biscuit with honey, Ambrosia, margarine.

Wednesday: Clam chowder, turkey sandwich, garden salad with dressing, grapes.

Thursday: Lasagna, spinach salad, garlic bread, fresh orange halves.

Friday: Fish sandwich, Tater Tots, coleslaw, mixed fruit.
