Obituary: James Edward Collier

James Edward Collier, 84, a 40-year resident of Carson City, passed away April 18, 2009, at his home in Dayton.

Jim was born January 19, 1925, in Omaha, Neb. and attended Omaha Tech High School. He was employed with Zep Manufacturing Company as a chemical sales rep for 25 years, retiring in 1986.

Jim was married to Arlene Weyen in Columbus, Neb. Nov. 7, 1954.

He is survived by his wife, daughters, Ann Weyrick of Carson City and Christine (Jim) Mavis of Tucson, Ariz., and son Matthew (Cathie) Collier of Carson City; grandchildren Stephen and Kelli Weyrick, Matt and Isaac Mavis, and Alli and Dylan Collier.

Jim enjoyed golfing, hiking, spending time with his little Beagle "Molly" and snowbirding in Green Valley, Ariz. during the winter months.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m., May 8, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church,

1480 Douglas Avenue, Gardnerville The Reverend Russ Howen will officiate. Private family graveside services were held at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City.
