A fundraiser tonight at Tommy's Bar will benefit a Carson City infant who recently underwent surgery for a brain tumor.

Organizer Pat Melino said the event, from 6 p.m. to closing, will help the family of 16-month-old Tuscani Ramos offset medical costs from the surgery at Oakland Children's Hospital and chemotherapy the girl began on Wednesday.

Several local businesses donated 75 door prizes, which will be raffled off throughout the evening for $2 tickets.

Melino, whose daughter is friends with Tuscani's mother Keli Shilling Ramos, said participants need not be present to win.

There also will be a door prize, karaoke and finger foods. The bar, at 260 W. Winnie Lane, is donating

10 percent of their proceeds from the evening to the cause.

"I've known Keli for years and think of her as a daughter," said Melino. "We love her to death and when this all happened I just decided I'm going to do whatever I can to help her."

To purchase raffle tickets attend the event or call Melino at 315-4368.

Donations can be sent to Keli Ramos, c/o Pat Melino at 1247 Shadowridge Dr., Carson City, NV., 89706.
