Phoenix International Ventures, an aerospace contractor headquartered in Carson City, said Thursday that it lost $151,198 in the second quarter of this year.

That compares with a loss of $71,469 in the same period a year ago. But last year's figures were boosted by a one-time-only recovery of money set aside for contingencies, the company said.

Phoenix International manufactures and upgrades ground equipment used to support military aircraft. Its stock is publicly traded.

Zahir Teja, president and chief executive officer of Phoenix, said the company currently has $7 million in orders on its books. That includes a U.S. Air Force contract for at least $2.4 million to make a new generation of trailers to transport aircraft engines.

The company's sales during the second quarter totaled $646,533. That compares with sales of $461,540 in the same period a year earlier.
