May 28, 1959 - Aug. 25, 2009.

"Cindy" to her friends and family passed away Tuesday afternoon after a two-year battle with lung and brain cancer. She was a native of Tucson, Ariz., where she spent her first 42 years before arriving in Northern Nevada in May of 2001.

Transferred here by Lincare, Inc. in Sparks, she soon fell in love with the area and claimed Washoe Valley as her home. Cindra spent five years as the medical billing supervisor for Nevada Health Centers in Carson City.

She loved nothing more than to cook and sew for her large family. She spent time in her garden, beautified her home, explored her new surroundings, traveled whenever possible, and read as many books as she could get her hands on.

The beautiful mother of seven and grandmother of 11 was preceded in death in 2006 by her then 15-year-old daughter Chelsea. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Morrison, and her sons Jonathan Mendoza and Jason Morrison of Washoe Valley. Her daughter, Monica Munoz and her three granddaughters, Estrella (Star), Jasmin and Melody, live in Sparks. Her sons Ricardo and Rene Munoz, Joshua Mendoza, her grandchildren Ricky, Sabrina, Nicolas, Tiffany, Stephanie, and Emily Munoz and Brittney and Joey Islam are all residents of Tucson. She will be missed by her four younger sisters Debbie, Laura, Cheryl and Teresa, their many children and grandchildren all around the South Tucson area as well as her mother Helen Munoz and the rest of the Eckstrom family.

Services will be held at Walton's Chapel of the Valley on North Roop Street in Carson City at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1. A memorial service is also being planned in Tucson at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Ave.
