Two Carson City teens sentenced in playground attack

Two Carson City teens were sentenced to 180 days in a prison boot camp for their part in an attack of a group of teens near Empire Elementary School.

Adrian Hernandez, 18, and Edgar Sepulveda, 19, were sentenced Tuesday by District Court Judge James Wilson.

If they successfully complete boot camp they could receive probation. Each pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted theft.

Hernandez, Sepulveda and several juveniles were arrested Aug. 8 after they surrounded a group of teens on the Empire Elementary School playground and demanded their valuables.

The following people also appeared in District Court recently:

• Xue Bao, 46, decided against pleading guilty to attacking and nearly blinding his girlfriend, and asked instead for a trial. Chen waived a preliminary hearing in early October in preparation for entering a plea of guilty to two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. A trial on a charges of battery with a deadly weapon with substantial bodily harm and two counts of battery with a deadly weapon is set for March 15.

• Brian Ross Fenn, 25, pleaded guilty to four counts of possession of child pornography. He faces one to six years in prison on each count when he is sentenced Feb. 8. Fenn was arrested Oct. 14 after a search of his computer in September allegedly revealed hundreds of images and videos of children as young as 1-year-old being sexually violated by adults, an investigator said.

• A trial has been set for May 17 for Linda and Robert Williams, charged in the alleged abuse and neglect of their young sons.
