Time is running out to reserve a Christmas Eve visit with Santa Claus, said Carson City Sheriff's Reserve Commander Tom Crawford.
Now through Dec. 21, parents can call the Sheriff's Santa hot line at 887-2020 ext. 45005. Leave a message with your name, address, contact phone number, number of children in the home, location of gifts you want Santa to hand out (he does not provide gifts) and the approximate time you would like St. Nick to knock at your door. Only 150 homes will be visited.
Crawford said visits will happen between 5-9 p.m. and they will try to make it to your home within 30 minutes of the requested time.
The Santa Program is a fundraiser for the Carson City Sheriff's Reserve Organi-
zation. Donations are appreciated. The proceeds go to offset the costs of uniforms, training and duty gear for the all-volunteer force that helps Carson City deputies during all of the city's events.
This will be the group's 25th year for the program, said Crawford.
