ADVOCATES TO END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

The Season of Giving holiday adoption campaign is getting underway. If you are interested in helping assist children and their mothers with Christmas, please remember the upcoming food drive at the Governor's Mansion at 606 Mountain Street. From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday bring can goods, dry goods, paper products and detergents for the annual Share Your Holiday food drive. You can just drive up and drop off - no hassles and you can keep warm in your car. The volunteers will help assist in gathering your donation.

WHEN: 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday

WHERE: Governor's Mansion, 606 Mountain Street

CONTACT: Teri at 883-7654.

SANTA TRAIN

I absolutely recommend this event. Santa will be on board and visit all the children. And, with your ride you'll receive a free skate rental for ice skating at Arlington Square Ice Rink from 1-11 p.m. Saturday or 1-9 p.m. Dec 13. Bring your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and enjoy a wholesome, fun tradition of seeing Santa on the Warren Engine Company #1. Warm up with hot chocolate and refreshments for sale and free admission to the museum. Check out the engines, get your photo taken and enjoy a lot of history here in Carson City.

WHAT: Ride the Rails with Santa

WHEN: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

WHERE: 2180 S. Carson St.

COST: $2 per person
