Hoop signups scheduled

The next round of signups for the Comstock Youth Basketball League are scheduled for Dec. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith's in Dayton.

Signups are also being held on Jan. 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Camps are scheduled on Jan. 4 and Jan. 5. The Jan. 4 camp at Riverview Elementary is slated for 6 to 8 p.m. and is for third and fourth graders. The Jan. 5 camp is from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dayton Intermediate and is open to kids in fifth through eighth grade.

There will be mandatory skills evaluations.

Third and fourth-graders will meet Jan. 6 at 6 p.m. at Riverview Elementary. The fifth through eighth grade evaluation is set for 6 p.m. on Jan. 7 at Dayton Intermediate.

The league is co-ed and will consist of grade-grouped teams. The league is instructional and will introduce players to basketball basics, including teamwork and sportsmanship.

The cost is $40 for a single player, $75 for two players from the same family and $100 for three or more from the same family.

The league is still looking for volunteers.

Toads remains

in 1st place

Toads remains in first place in the Mosconi Division of the American Poolplayers Association.

Toads has 60 points, three ahead of Jerry's Kids and seven more than Anarchy Nation.

Austin Matthews maintained his first-place spot in the 4-5 tier with 44 points. Cheryl Hansen of Rat Pack is second at 38 and Casey Richards of SRH is third at 35.

Alex Gutierrez of Toads leads the 6-7 tier with 49 points, while Juan Pina from Twisted Attitudes is second at 41. Justin Young of Toads is third at 35.

Robert Bridges of Anarchy Nation leads the 2-3 tier with 41 points, while James Panos of Scratch Masters is second at 32.

Ferguson rolls 300

at Gold Dust

Ray Ferguson rolled his first-ever perfect game in the Monday's Men Senior Trio at Gold Dust West Bowling Center.

Bill Baker rolled a 290, James Ross and Allen De Young had 279s, Steve Spurgin a 278 and Ray Fasel a 277.

Carson JV

grapplers 6th

Carson High's junior varsity wrestling squad finished sixth at the Rite of Passage Invitational on Tuesday

Carson compiled a 2-3 record in the dual-meet format, beating ROP's JV squad 48-30 and beating a combined squad from Dayton and Silver Stage 39-36.

Dustin Garza (112), Cruz Kerver (126) and Jordan Woodworth (heavyweight) all went 4-1 in their respective weight classes
