LAS VEGAS - Luke Babbitt scored 24 points and had 11 rebounds to lead Nevada over Tulsa 99-68 in the final round of the Las Vegas Classic on Wednesday night at the Orleans Arena.
With the win, the Wolf Pack earned its first win away from home after starting the season 0-for-5 away from Lawlor Events Center. Nevada (7-5) returns home Monday (7:05 p.m. tipoff) to face Portland.
Babbitt paced four Wolf Pack players in double figures for scoring. Senior Brandon Fields and junior Armon Johnson each had 17 points, while senior Ray Kraemer added 11 on 4-of-4 shooting from the field, including 3-of-3 from behind the arc.
Jerome Jordan led the Golden Hurricane (9-3) with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Ben Uzoh had 14 points.
Tulsa took an early 5-2 lead, but Nevada then went on a 8-0 run and never trailed again. The Wolf Pack led 48-30 at intermission, started the second half with a 23-5 run and led by as many as 39.
Nevada shot 56.3 percent (36 for 64) while posting its second-highest point total this season. It scored 112 in a victory over Houston on Nov. 21.
The 31-point win marked Nevada's largest margin of victory this season.
NOTES: Nevada outrebounded Tulsa 40-34, marking the seventh consecutive game that the Wolf Pack has outrebounded its opponent and the ninth time in 10 contests. The team is now 6-3 when outrebounding its opponent this season ... The Wolf Pack turned the ball over a season-low five times in the contest.
