Learn history with Daughters of Norway

The Daughters of Norway Queen Maud Lodge No. 42 will meet 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 19 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1201 N. Saliman Road. Members will learn about the history of Norway and learn the Norwegian version of "Happy Birthday." Women are invited to join the lodge that are of Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic heritage or who are married or have been married to a Norwegian. For information, call 790-5060.

E Clampus Vitus to hold Legislative Night

The Ancient and Honorable Order of E Clampus Vitus, Snowshoe Thompson Chapter No. 1827 will hold its Legislative Night and Candlelight Initiation, Thursday, Feb. 19, Eagles Hall, 1380 E. Fifth St. A no-host bar opens at 5:59 p.m.; dinner will be served at 7:42 p.m. Cost is $25 for Redshirts and $65 for PBCs. Dance club to host 'Heartbeat Ball'

High Sierra Swing Dance Club presents a "Heartbeat Ball" dance Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Brewery Arts Center's Grand Ballroom, 449 W. King St. Donna Ewing will teach a lesson in cowboy cha-cha at 7 p.m. The social dance is 8-10:30 p.m. Partners are not required. Developmental delay screenings offered

The Carson City School District and Nevada Early Intervention Services are conducting ongoing screenings to identify children who may have developmental delays. This free service is available to children ages birth to 5 years old who are unable to talk or perform tasks like other children their age, are not meeting normal developmental milestones, and may have other special needs. To be eligible for the screening of 3- to 5-year-olds, children must reside in Carson City. For a child ages birth to 3 years old, call 687-0100, and for a child who is 3 to 5 years old, call 283-2302.
