Southern Gospel concert at Wesleyan Church

Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church presents The Dixie Melody Boys in concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 1505 Railroad Drive.

There is no admission fee, however, donations will be received to help the group with expenses.

The Dixie Melody Boys features Ed O'Neal, Rob Shelton, Jonathan Price and Steven Cooper. The thrill and excitement of performances of the Dixie Melody Boys night after night is most evident at each concert.

Their goal of delivering a first-class performance filled with excitement, energy and lots of great traditional Southern Gospel Music are traits which have proven to play an essential role in the success they have enjoyed.

These characteristics, united with their desire to never compromise their responsibility to spread the Gospel through Southern Gospel Music in a Christ-like professional manner, have allowed The Dixie Melody Boys to firmly establish their place at the forefront of Southern Gospel Music.

Eckankar hosts listening workshop

The public is invited to discuss how the creative power works at an Eckankar worship service, 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St. Eckankar is the religion of the light and sound of God.

The service is free. A facilitator will give a brief talk, with readings held afterward along with small-group discussions and a short contemplation. For information, call Clay Brant at 358-9013.
