Randy Ernest Wheeler died Jan. 22, 2009 at Carson Tahoe Regional Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Petaluma, Calif. Jan. 12, 1958 and moved to Nevada with his parents when he was 3 months old. He attended elementary, junior high and high school in Sparks. He served three years in the U.S. Army. He worked for the Federal Building in Carson City as Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds for 18 years. He enjoyed gardening, grooming lawns, plants and fishing.

His survivors include his mother Joan Banta Schellhouse of Carson City; sisters Regina Feliciano and Renee Hirschman both of Sparks, three nieces, three nephews, cousin Florence Williams of Colorado and Norma Clinton of South Dakota.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Friday at which time funeral services will be held at Autumn Funerals & Cremations in Carson City. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
