Curtis Weir, 68, passed away on July 11, 2009, at his home in Yerington with his wife of 50 years and family by his side.
He is survived by his wife Verona (Ronnie) of Yerington; brother Larry Weir (Dorrie) of San Jose; children Cheryl Perretta (Larry) of Gardnerville, Pamela Tavares (Tony) of Gustine, Calif., Brian Weir (Agnes) of Brentwood, Calif., Cathy Towne of Yerington, and 10 grandchildren.
Mr. Weir was founder of the Bay Area Mountain Men (BAMM) club in San Jose, Calif., a Navy veteran, and a former police officer.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of his life is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday July 18, 2009, at his favorite place, the Stage Stop Bakery on Highway 95 in Yerington.
