INCLINE VILLAGE (Nevada Appeal News Service) - Nevada Department of Wildlife official Carl Lackey released a young black bear Tuesday morning north of Incline Village.

The bear, a 3-year-old male estimated at about 180 pounds, was captured in a trap Sunday night near Incline High School.

Lackey said the trap was set for a larger male bear, which has been breaking into area homes. Lackey said the large bear has already experienced a run-in with NDOW, resulting in an ear tag.

The young male ended up in the trap accidentally, Lackey said.

After tagging the bear and allowing him one day to recover, Lackey released the bear in the Mt. Rose Meadows area north of Incline Village.
