LAS VEGAS (AP) - A top Nevada gambling regulator has issued a warning to a Las Vegas company that operates in 12 states and 38 Indian reservations.
Nevada Gaming Board Chairman Dennis Neilander says he is "at the end of my rope" with Las Vegas Gaming Inc., a bingo operator and developer of slot machine software.
Neilander made the comment this week during a hearing considering the licensing of the company's president and chief executive Jon Berkley.
State audits of the company have found it failed to do background checks of new hires and struggled to meet other regulations.
Berkley says changes have been made to improve compliance.
The board recommended Berkley be licensed. The state Gaming Commission will make the final decision later this month.
