Anita T. Stodick died June 21, 2009 in Moscow, Idaho.
She was born Sept. 26, 1921 in Carson Valley, Nevada to William and Meta Thran. She grew up on the family farm with her three brothers, Walter, Earnest and Leslie and sister Evelyn. After graduation from Douglas High School in 1937, she went to work for the Douglas County Extension Service.
She married Lester Stodick in 1941 and together they operated a dairy farm near Gardnerville. During that time she taught 4-H classes and conducted bible classes at the Lutheran church. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Gardnerville. After retirement they moved to Minden, where Lester died in 1991. She remained in Minden until 2001 when she moved to Moscow to be near her family. Mrs. Stodick was an excellent bridge player and continued to play after she moved to Moscow. She played several times a week until illness forced her to quit several months ago. In Moscow she was a member of Bridge Bible Fellowship.
Her husband, brothers Walter and Earnest and sister Evelyn precede her in death.
She is survived by her brother Leslie; daughter Celeste; sons Leroy, Arvin and Roger and their families including seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren
A graveside service will be held at the Mottsville cemetery in Carson Valley. Walton's Chapel of the Valley is handling arrangements in Nevada. A memorial service in Moscow will be announced. Memorial contributions are suggested to Care Net of the Palouse.
