Gary Hart passed away peacefully in Reno after a brief illness. Gary was born in Palo Alto, Calif., and moved to Nevada at age 11. He was the son of Eugene and Mary Hart. Gary is survived by his father, stepmother Vanessa; sister Anna Hart of Reno; brother Tim Hart of California; niece Jennifer Hart of Reno; nephews Andy Hart of Reno and Benjamin Hart of California; five stepchildren, Renee Tanner of Ohio, Danielle Bolduc of California, Christopher and Jeffrey Bolduc of Las Vegas, and Kathleen McNulty of Illinois; four granddaughters and four great nephews; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, his brothers Andy and Rich Hart, his long-term companion Carole Spaltro, and his grandson Samuel Tanner.

Gary was a member of the Air Guard and graduated from the University of Nevada-Reno. He was a teacher for over 30 years and had planned to retire from his physical education position with the Carson City School District this year. Gary also coached track and field and the Carson Aquatic Club for several years.

Gary enjoyed spending summer vacations at Eagle Lake, long hours on his boat, fishing, camping, cooking, golfing, traveling, and watching the 49ers. He participated in many local athletic events and enjoyed entertaining his friends with his comedic singing and dancing.

A Celebration of Life will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 14 at Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City.
