Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

- A traffic stop on Saturday morning resulted in the arrest of chemist allegedly transporting the makings of a methamphetamine lab.

Miguel Tranquina, 42, a chemist from Gardnerville, was arrested at the intersection of William and State streets for felony trafficking, possession and manufacturing a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers spotted Tranquina's car driving with expired registration. While doing an inventory prior to towing the vehicle, officers reported finding multiple glass pipes used to smoke meth, and 27 grams of meth in a briefcase. When they open the trunk, they reportedly found chemicals, tubing and equipment used to make meth.

The suspect's bail was set at $40,000.

- Patrick James Martin, 56, of Carson City, was arrested Friday morning in the 2600 block of Merrit Street for being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, and misdemeanor domestic battery. The reporting party said that Martin had punched and kicked him numerous times after the two argued. During the course of the investigation into the domestic battery, it was discovered Martin was in possession of a firearm. Bail was set at $23,132.

- Lashadrian Sherena Williams, 37, of Carson City, was arrested Friday morning in the 1100 block of Saliman on a felony warrant out of Reno, along with several traffic offenses. Officers witnessed the subject failing to stop at a four-way stop. She also didn't have a valid driver's license or proof of insurance, and the vehicle registration was expired. A records check found the outstanding felony warrant for fraud. She also failed three of four field sobriety tests and was charged with first offense DUI. Bail was set at $3,433.

- A 21-year-old Carson City mother was arrested Saturday morning in the 1000 block of 5th Street for misdemeanor first offense DUI. An officer stopped the subject's vehicle after witnessing it fail to maintain its lane of travel, then drive onto a sidewalk and on a grassy shoulder. An on-scene test revealed the driver had a blood alcohol level of .36. Bail was set at $1,132.

- A 30-year-old fast food worker from Carson City was arrested Friday night in the 1600 block of Brown Street for misdemeanor domestic battery. The subject's wife reported he had punched and kicked her during an argument. Bail was set at $3,132.

- A 19-year-old welder from Carson City was arrested Friday night at the intersection of Telegraph and Richmond streets for misdemeanor first offense DUI. An officer witnessed subject's vehicle make an illegal U-turn, and watched as a passenger exited the vehicle and urinated on the sidewalk. The subject refused to take a field sobriety test, and was arrested. A blood test taken later showed a blood alcohol level of .072. Bail was set at $1,132.

- A 19-year-old janitor from Dayton was arrested Friday evening in the 3200 block of Market Street for gross misdemeanor possession of a dangerous weapon, misdemeanor petit larceny, probation violation and an outstanding warrant for tampering/injury to vehicle. The subject and another man were detained by store security officers for shoplifting items. The subject admitted to stealing a DVD, and that he was on probation. A store security officer also found a bandana tied through the clasp of a lock, a weapon known as a "smiley," in the subject's rear pocket. An outstanding warrant out of Dayton Township was also discovered. Bail was set at $6,861.

- A 26-year-old unemployed Gardnerville woman was arrested Friday afternoon at Carson and Proctor streets for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The subject was stopped for having an expired registration, and a records check uncovered the outstanding warrant. Bail was set at $982.

- A 46-year-old student was arrested Friday morning at Highway 50 and Lompa for a contempt of court warrant. Officer ran a registration check of subject's vehicle, which revealed the outstanding warrant. Bail was set at $182.
