The Carson City Music Club is bringing a fascinating cultural opportunity to enjoy the song and stories from exchange student Punyamuch Pornsakulpaisal, who is lives in Smith Valley. Punyamuch's presentation encompasses her native Thailand. The public is invited and refreshments are served after the performance.

Knights of Columbus St. Patrick's Day Dinner and Auction

The 12th annual Carson City Knights of Columbus St. Patrick's Day Celebration is scheduled for March 14, with live and silent auctions, and a huge raffle with over 70 items donated by local merchants.

The dinner features a corned beef and cabbage buffet, plus lamb stew and all the trimmings. Raffle and auction items include golf packages, dinner packages, fishing equipment, skiing, and much more.

The funds will support the council's youth, parish and civic projects, such as scholarships to St. Teresa Catholic School, building funds of St. Teresa and Corpus Christi Catholic Churches, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Eagle Valley Children's Home, Special Olympics, and many others.

Carson Valley Xtreme

Carson Valley Xtreme, the under-13 girls soccer team, is having a team yard sale to raise money to defray costs of playing and tournaments. The yard sale will take place in the Carson Valley Middle School parking lot, weather permitting. If you would like to help by donating items for the yard sale, come on down before 10 a.m. There will be lots of great stuff for sale: furniture, skis, sporting and clothes, luggage and lots more.

Carson High School ProStart Team

The Carson High Culinary Fundraiser is to help the Nevada State Champion ProStart Team from Carson High travel to the national competition. These students have to get up early and arrive at school before school starts, stay after school and sometimes on the weekends. They are dedicated to the love of cooking and to Chef Penny Reynolds, so if you'd like to try making a stuffed chicken roulade, shepherd's pie, chocolate lava cake, tuxedo strawberries or lemon ricotta cake, come join these outstanding students. This will be a fun learning experience. Not only will you be helping some amazing students at Carson High School, but you will learn to cook like a pro.
