A Carson City man given probation for his part in a 1998 beating death was jailed Wednesday on a felony burglary charge for allegedly stealing beer from a convenience store.

Jaron Wade Malone, 28, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony burglary at 12:26 a.m.

According to the arrest report, Malone allegedly walked into the Quik Stop Market on Hot Springs Road, grabbed two cases of Budweiser, then jumped into a waiting vehicle.

The vehicle was stopped at Stewart and Washington streets a short time later. Malone was the passenger, and two cases of beer were in the back seat, according to the arrest report.

The store clerk identified Malone as the thief, according to the report.

He is being held on $25,000 bail.

Malone was one of 10 teens charged in the August 1998 motel room beating death of Sammy Resendiz, 25.
