Dayton Justice of the Peace Camille Vecchiarelli sentenced Dale Wayne Hill to 30 days in jail for failing to register as a felon after Hill waived his right to an attorney and pleaded guilty in Dayton Justice Court this morning.

With good-time credit, Hill, 39, could be released at the earliest April 14.

Hill is the prime suspect in the 1998 disappearance of Stephanie Condon, 14, an Oregon girl whose remains were located two weeks ago in a forested area near Hill's parent's home.

Oregon authorities confirmed the identity of the remains and had come to Nevada to speak with Hill about his involvement.

At the time of Condon's disappearance, Hill had allegedly told investigators he'd stopped by the home where Condon was babysitting to vist her cousin, but denied knowing her whereabouts.

When Lyon County investigators were alerted to Hill's presense in the community, they realized he hadn't registered as a felon " a misdemeanor offense " affer having served about six years in prison on a burglary charge unrelated to the Condon disappearance.

He was picked up on the charge at his Dayton Valley Road an hour after Oregon officials held a press conference announcing the remains were Condon's.

Oregon has yet to charge Hill in the Condon case and declined to state whether charges were pending.
