The catfish, placed in the Carson River twelve months ago by Fish Commissioner Parker, have been heard from. Doc Benton was fishing a few days ago and brought one to the surface. After taking fish dimensions of three and a quarter inches, it was returned to the slough of his adoption.

The sad news was received that Harry Diamond, the boy who was accidentally shot at Washoe Lake has died. The remembered was taken to San Francisco where every effort was made to save the boy's life. When he received his injury at Washoe Lake he displayed the utmost grit. He doubtless realized the serious nature of his wound more fully than any one else and remarked, "I am gone, brother; kiss me before you go," and as his brother started away a strong brotherly affection prompted him to call him back to kiss him again.
