Financial preparedness fair presented at Dayton church

A free financial preparedness fair is being held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 16 at the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 304 Driftwood Way, in Dayton.

The fair, Staying Afloat in a Changing Economy, will focus on ways to survive financial difficulty.

Classes will begin at the top of each hour, with each being repeated four times. People may attend any or all of the classes. The exhibits will be displayed in the gym throughout the event.

The classes will be:

- Financial Awareness: Sink or Swim " This class will focus on budgeting, savings, and how to handle debt and credit wisely.

- Frugal Living: Treading Water Until Help Arrives " This class will focus on creative ways to cut expenses so that we can live within our means.

- Employment: Your Financial Flotation Device " This class will share resources and information about finding a job, creating a good resume, upgrading your job skills, interviewing and networking.

- Strengthen Your Family: Who's Your Lifeguard? This class will provide ideas.

Attendees are encouraged to support a food drive by bringing non-perishable food to benefit local food banks.
