The second Carson City student has a confirmed case of swine flu.

The Nevada State Health Lab confirmed a sample Thursday from an Empire Elementary School student, the Carson City School District said in statement.

The student is recovering from a mild form of the H1N1 virus, the district said.

Empire Elementary will not close under recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and prevention, according to the district.

This is the fifth confirmed case of the H1N1 virus in Carson City.

A fourth-grade Mark Twain Elementary School student had one of the first two cases of the virus reported in the city May 6.

More than 92 cases of the virus have been confirmed in the state. No deaths have been reported from the virus.
