Senior market nutrition program offers coupons

Applications for free coupons for fresh fruit and vegetables for low-income seniors through the Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program are available now at the Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive, and RSVP Carson City office, 3303 Butti Way, Building 1. The coupons will be distributed 8-11 a.m., Wednesday, June 17 in the lobby of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St. Each coupon book contains 15 " $2 coupons to be used at the Farmer's Market. An individual eligible senior with an income not exceeding $20,036 annually will receive one book. An eligible senior couple whose combined income does not exceed $26,955 can receive 2 books (one each). The Carson City Farmer's Market is open 3-7 p.m. every Wednesday beginning June 17 at the Pony Express Pavilion in Mills Park. For information, call 687-4680, ext. 10.

Douglas Animal Welfare Group holds yard sale

Douglas Animal Welfare Group hosts its annual yard sale, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, June 6 in the parking lot of Rufus on the Ritz Pet Boutique and Bakery, 1368 U.S. Highway 395, Gardnerville. Items in good condition can still be donated by calling 265-3011. Shoppers will find furniture, housewares, sporting goods, tools, clothing, linens and more. All proceeds from the sale will be used to support the animals of Douglas County Animal Shelter and DAWG foster animals. Make reservations for Happy Senior Tour

Carson City Senior Citizens "Happy Senior Tours" will head to Boomtown, Wednesday, June 10. The bus will load at 7:45 a.m. in the east parking lot of the Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive, and depart at 8:15 a.m., returning at 4 p.m. For reservations, call 882-3352.

Spring Fling Party at Dayton Senior Center

Dayton Senior Center hosts a "Spring Fling Party" 6 p.m., Friday, June 5 at the Dayton Senior Center, 320 Old Dayton Valley Road. Spend an evening in the company of friend for dinner and music. $4 per person. Spaghetti, spinach salad, garlic bread, pineapple upside down cake, ice tea, coffee and lemonade will be served.
