Senator Square: Celebrating the season and staff

The Carson High Ski and Board team is putting on a double feature at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Carson City Community Center.

The MSP Film takes an original look at the sport of skiing . All of the skiers in the film - park rat or big mountain charger - share a common bond: The overwhelming desires to ski. Each person finds stoke in his own unique way, whether it be a double cork 1260, a deep turn on a storm day or ripping a giant AK line.

First Track Productions is a videography firm located in South Lake Tahoe that specializes in progressive snowboarding.

Their film "Droppin'" will be showing the same night at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 for both films bought in advance (from CHS ski/board team athletes) or $15 at the door.

The 15th annual Carson High Holiday Craft Fair will be 5-8:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Prices on Friday night are $2, including the ability to return on Saturday and a free raffle ticket.

Entry on Saturday is $1.50 or $1 with a canned-food item. Children and students K-12 are free.

Santa will be present both days. We will have great food, entertainment and a book sale.

Seeliger's PTO sponsored Parent University occurred this past Saturday at Carson High School.

NHS provided babysitting services while parents attended informative sessions in parenting involving a broad range of topics such as cyber bullying, Internet safety and homework tips.

America Education Week is Nov. 16-20.

During this week we celebrate all employee efforts in creating a positive educational experience.

It takes many people to establish this environment, from custodial and grounds, to principals and secretaries. Thank you to all educational staff.

In celebration, CHS is holding a raffle of great prizes donated from local businesses. Good luck to all staff.
