St. Peter's Episcopal Church will have one service on Sunday at 9 a.m.

The church youth group will host a pancake breakfast following the service.

The change in service schedule is to provide time for the annual meeting of the parish membership.

The Rigpa Autumn Retreat with Sogyal Rinpoche, world-renowned Buddhist teacher from Tibet and author of "The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying," will be at the Resort at Squaw Creek from Nov. 27 to Dec. 6.

"Blissful Path to Bliss," the fourth annual Thanksgiving retreat with Lama Sumati Marut, will be Nov. 26-30 at the Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Center, 660 Highway 50, Zephyr Cove. Marut will lead participants in De Lam, the Steps of the Path to Bliss.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - A copy of the Bible written by hand, one verse at a time, by more than 31,000 people throughout the United States is on the auction block.

Christian book publisher Zondervan said Thursday it's selling the book on eBay and donating the proceeds to Biblica, a group that translates, produces and distributes Bibles.

The leather-bound three-volume handwritten Bible has 2,200 pages.

It's one of two original handwritten Bibles that Grand Rapids-based Zondervan created during a nine-month motor home tour of 40 states to mark the 30th anniversary of its modern-language New International Version Bible.

Members of the public wrote the verses into the books during the tour, which ended in June. A published version will be sold in stores beginning Dec. 1.
