Obituary: Margaret Mary Walker

Margaret Mary Walker, 92, of Carson City, passed away on October 12, 2009. Margaret was born on May 29, 1917, to Matthew and Annie (Cronin) Murphy in Goldfield, Nev.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her younger brother Dan Murphy and his wife Eldeane, and her husband Oren Walker. She is survived by her sons Daniel (Jerry Ann), William, Thomas, John (Denise), and her sisters Helen Baker and Bernie Baker (John). She was honored to be the grandmother of Stephanie and Matthew (Carla). Margaret's extended family included her nieces and nephew that were so proud to call her Aunt Marg. Her family is very grateful for the love and support that was shown to her throughout her life by her very special family and friends.

A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2009, at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church chapel in Carson City.

The family would like to thank Margaret's friend and caregiver Eileen Holmes, the caregivers at Sierra Place, and Vista Care Hospice for the thoughtfulness and love shown to our mother in her final days.
