Lutherans celebrate new building

Shepherd of the Sierra Lutheran Church will have a Celebration Service for the new church at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13.

Everyone is invited to attend and join in the worship service and special celebration.

Worship concert at St. Teresa's

St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community will host a Summer Under the Stars - Praise & Worship Concert from 6-8 p.m Tuesday on the front patio of the church located at 3000 N. Lompa Lane.

All faiths are welcome to the free concert featuring St. Teresa's Terri Bond (Gospel Music Award Winner), Haley Bond (Reno Idol) and Unity Church's Cherie Shipley (Reno Tahoe's Showroom Favorite).

Fellowship and picnic time begins at 6 p.m. Bring some food, blankets or chairs. Concert starts at 7 p.m.

If the weather is inclement weather, the concert will be moved inside. For more information, call 882-1968.

St. Mary's to be rededicated

The Schola Cantorum of the Pacific will sing at the rededication of the historic St. Mary's in the Mountains at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12.

St. Mary's has been undergoing extensive renovations. The historic church is located at Union and C streets in Virginia City. For more information, call 775-847-9099.

Women's service on 'Knowing God's Love'

Stewart Community Church will present a women's meeting on "Know God's Love" with Shelley Ellison speaking. The services ar at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sep. 25, and at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. There will be a complimentary lunch following the meeting.

No childcare is available.
