Carson City Health Department's food-service inspections for Sept. 17-21 (all scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations):

• Carson City Senior Citizens Center Food Facility, 911 Beverly Drive, scored 100 points.

• Cactus Jack's Senator Club Bar/Lounge, 420 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Juan's Mexican Grill #1 Restaurant, 402 N. Carson St., scored 99 points, Cloths used on food-contact surfaces did not contain sanitizer residual.

• Carson City Nugget Bakery, 507 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Grandma Hattie's Caterer, 2811 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Grandma Hattie's Restaurant, 2811 S. Carson St., scored 97 points. Found some food items stored in the walk-in refrigerator without covers. Non-food contact surfaces of cabinets under the front counter contain debris and are not clean.

• Carson Horseshoe Club Bar 1/Lounge, 402 N. Carson St., scored 95 points. Readily perishable cold food is held above 46 F. Milk in the under-counter refrigerator was over 50 F and was not being maintained at 40 F or below. The milk was discarded. Repair refrigerator as needed.

• Carson Horseshoe Club Bar 2/Lounge, 402 N. Carson St., scored 95 points. Readily perishable cold food is held above 46 F. Milk was found at 51 F in the under-counter refrigerator and was not at 40 F or below. The milk and whipped cream were discarded. Repair refrigerator as needed.

• Mustang Sallie's Deuce's Grill Restaurant, 420 N. Carson St., scored 96 points. No chlorine residue was detected on dishware after mechanical final rinse.

• San Marcos Grill Bar/Lounge, 260 E. Winnie Lane, scored 100 points.

• San Marcos Grill Restaurant, 260 E. Winnie Lane, scored 94 points. Found pans of food stored directly on top of uncovered prepared cactus leaves in the reach-in freezer. Cloths used on food-contact surfaces are not clean, do not contain sanitizer residual, or are not used properly. At least one employee of this establishment must be a certified food handler.

• The Basil Restaurant, 311 N. Carson St., scored 91 points. Observed staff frequently wiping hands on wet (no sanitizer) cloth while stocking the make-up unit (before lunch) located at the end of the prep/cook line. Observed staff regularly putting on clean latex gloves without first washing hands at the hand sink. There was an uncovered staff drink on the shelf above the food pre/make-up area. Cloths used on food-contact surfaces are not clean, do not contain sanitizer residual or are not used properly. Found three staff busily preparing foods for the lunch hour with no certified staff present.

• DBG United Wholesale Distributing, 2230 U.S. 50 East, scored 100 points.

• Taqueria Fuentes Takeout, 3391 U.S. 50 East, scored 100 points.

• China Chef II Restaurant, 3135 U.S. 50 East, scored 92 points. Found food stored in the reach-in freezer without covers. Food contact surfaces of the ice machine were not clean. The countertop under the soda machine was not clean. A supply of paper towels was not available at the hand wash sink next to the dishwashing machine. The vent grid in the kitchen contained accumulated dust and debris.

• McDonalds #31007, 3200 Market St., scored 95 points. A cold holding thermometer is missing in the burger make-up reach-in. Facilities for manual dishwashing are not properly designed, constructed, maintained, installed, located or operated. A supply of paper towels is not present at any of the three hand sinks.

• Country Store Retail Grocery, 3389 U.S. 50 East, scored 97 points. There was no cold holding thermometer in the walk-in cooler. The food contact surfaces of the ice machine were not clean.

• Mustang Sallie's Deuces's Grill Restaurant (followup), 420 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.
