Kenneth E. Baxter died March 30, 2010, at the age of 77. He was born in Carson City in 1932 and was the son of Joseph and Edith Baxter. He attended high school in Ely and Carson City. Ken served with the Navy Seabees from 1952-1956, spending most of that time in the Philippines. On October 20, 1956 Kenneth married Margaret Berger in Carson City. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many construction companies in the western states.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son Daniel Baxter. Ken is survived by his wife of almost 54 years, his siblings Catherine Mathiesen, Joe Baxter (Sondra), and Phyllis Clemmer, two sons; Steve (Linda) and Ken (Kim), 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. April 10, 2010 at Walton Sparks Funeral Home, 1745 Sullivan Lane, Sparks. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
