Raffle prizes are being sought for the second annual Western States Motor Officers Association Show and Shine on April 17.

Organizer deputies Sal Acosta and Wayne Wheeler said that unlike last year when Carson City motor officers raised money to attend the peace officer's memorial in Washington, D.C., this year's fundraiser will benefit Austin's House, a non-profit in Indian Hills that helps children from Northern Nevada who are removed from their homes.

"We understand that times are hard, the economy is really difficult a lot of people don't have money, but if any local businesses are willing to donate any item for a raffle we'd really appreciate," said Acosta. "It was a fun event last year and we're doing it for the community to benefit the community."

Deputy Wayne Wheeler said trophies will be awarded in the following classifications: Off-Road 4X4, Best Truck, Best Classic, Best Muscle Car, Best Low Rider, Best Stock, Best Engine, Best Paint, Best Sound, Best Motorcycle, Best of Show, Best Rat Rod and Best Import.

The entry fee is $20 per car.
