SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Aaron Rowand drove in the winning run on an infield single with two outs in the 13th inning, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Atlanta Braves 5-4 on Friday to improve to 4-0.

Edgar Renteria hit a tying, two-run homer off Braves closer Billy Wagner with one out in the ninth.

Juan Uribe drew a one-out walk from Kris Medlen (0-1) in the 13th before stealing second. Uribe went to third on catcher Brian McCann's throwing error, and Rowand brought him home.

Jeremy Affeldt (2-0) pitched one inning for the win in the longest home opener in San Francisco history.

Atlanta manager Bobby Cox was ejected in the top of the 13th for arguing balls and strikes, the 154th ejection of his career.

San Francisco rallied from an early 3-0 deficit after a strong season debut by Braves starter Tim Hudson.

Rockies 7, Padres 0

DENVER (AP) - Jorge De La Rosa pitched seven innings of one-hit ball and Clint Barmes hit a late three-run homer to lead the Colorado Rockies over San Diego in their home opener.

Ian Stewart drove in two runs, and Todd Helton and Miguel Olivo each added a run-scoring single before a Coors Field regular-season record crowd of 49,509.

De La Rosa (1-0) kept the Padres off balance with a fastball that consistently reached 94 mph. The lefty struck out nine and enticed 10 groundball outs.

Rafael Betancourt and Esmil Rogers finished the two-hitter.

Clayton Richard (0-1) allowed three runs in seven innings for San Diego.

Reds 5, Cubs 4

CINCINNATI (AP) - Drew Stubbs hit his first career grand slam off Esmailin Caridad in the eighth inning, rallying Cincinnati past Chicago.

The Reds managed only three hits in the first seven innings, then took advantage of Caridad (0-1), who didn't give up an earned run during spring training. The right-hander walked his first two batters, and Chris Dickerson bunted for a single before Stubbs connected for a 5-3 lead.

Stubbs also tripled leading off the first and scored.

Micah Owings (1-0) got the victory with three innings of relief. Francisco Cordero gave up a solo homer by Derrek Lee in the ninth before picking up his first save.

The Cubs loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth, but pinch-hitter Chad Tracy hit a check-swing grounder back to Cordero for the final out.

Carlos Silva held the Reds to one run in six innings.

Mets 8, Nationals 2

NEW YORK (AP) - Rod Barajas and Jeff Francoeur became the first Mets hitters to homer twice out of Citi Field in the same game, powering New York past Washington on a windy night.

The Mets posted their first four-homer performance at the ballpark that opened in 2009. They totaled only 49 home runs last year in their new, spacious home.

Barajas and Francoeur sent their shots to left field. Until they connected, the only Mets player to homer twice in a game at Citi Field was Angel Pagan - he did it last Aug. 23, and one of them was an inside-the-park job.

Mike Pelfrey (1-0) pitched four-hit ball for six innings and left with a 3-2 lead. Barajas hit a go-ahead homer off Miguel Batista (0-1) in the sixth.

Dodgers 7, Marlins 3

MIAMI (AP) - Hiroki Kuroda limited Florida to five hits and an unearned run in eight innings, and Los Angeles spoiled the Marlins' home opener.

The Dodgers were 0 for 6 with runners in scoring position before Casey Blake doubled home the tying run in the seventh. He scored on Blake DeWitt's single, and the Dodgers added two unearned runs in the four-run inning on a throwing error by shortstop Hanley Ramirez.

Kuroda (1-0) struck out seven, and the only walk he allowed was intentional. Florida went 1 for 9 against him with runners in scoring position.

Chris Volstad (0-1) shut out the Dodgers for six innings, but gave up three runs in the seventh. Florida's bullpen, which has struggled to start the season, allowed four more.

Cardinals 5, Brewers 4

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Pinch-hitter Nick Stavinoha's two-run homer off Trevor Hoffman with two outs in the ninth inning rallied St. Louis past Milwaukee.

It was the first plate appearance of the season for Stavinoha and the first blown save for Hoffman (0-1), baseball's career saves leader, after he converted his first two chances.

Matt Holliday also hit a two-run homer for St. Louis. Dennys Reyes (1-0) got the win and Ryan Franklin earned his second save.

Phillies 8, Astros 0

HOUSTON (AP) - Placido Polanco had four hits and two RBIs, and Raul Ibanez drove in three runs to help Philadelphia keep Houston winless through four games.

J.A. Happ (1-0), David Herndon, Danys Baez and Jose Contreras combined for the eight-hit shutout. The Phillies compiled 16 hits and have had at least 10 in every game this season.

Astros starter Bud Norris (0-1), who spent most of last season in Triple-A, lasted just 2 2-3 innings. He allowed six hits and three runs with four walks.

Diamondbacks 9, Pirates 1

PHOENIX (AP) - Chris Young hit a grand slam for his second homer in two games and matched a career high with five RBIs, leading Arizona over Pittsburgh.

Young's second career slam highlighted a six-run third inning for the Diamondbacks, who improved to 3-1 and equaled their best start set in 2000.

Adam LaRoche broke an 0-for-13 slump with a two-run single in the third, and Arizona reloaded the bases against Charlie Morton (0-1) when Mark Reynolds was hit on the left hand by a pitch. Young, who finished with three hits, homered well over the 413-foot sign in left-center.

Rodrigo Lopez (1-0) limited the Pirates to one run over six innings and helped himself with a single in the third, his first hit since 2007 and only the third of his career.
