Colin McCulloch led the Carson High golf team to a fifth place finish Wednesday at Genoa Lakes.

McCulloch fired a 78 which included a chip-in for birdie on the 16th hole at the Lakes Course. Douglas' Gary Coleman tied with a player from Manogue as the medalist shooting a 75.

For Carson, Garrett Gingell recorded an 81, Niko Brewer had a 91, Mitch Parra had a 92 and Roman Smokey recorded a 94.

Manogue won the closely contested Sierra League match with a 396 score. Fallon finished right behind with 399, Galena was third followed by Douglas and Carson.

The Senators team score was 436.

Carson coach Terry Gingell said the Senators played OK but said the players left a few strokes on the course.

"They are working hard and making the progress needed," Gingell said.

The teams head back to the course for another Sierra League match at Wolf Run Golf Club in south Reno on Monday.
