New gym coming to Carson City

Anytime Fitness will open a new location in Carson City within the next 30 days, the company said last week.

Mike Blasquez, the club's owner, said the gym will open a 4,000 square foot location in the Carson Tahoe Quail Center. Construction is already underway on the gym, which is open everyday, all day even when it is not staffed.

The club also offers 24-hour tanning and access to any of its 1,200 clubs throughout the United States, Canada and Australia. For more information visit www.anytimefit ness.com.


Business networking meeting scheduled for Carson City

Business Network International, BNI, an international networking organization specializing in business referrals among members, is holding a Visitors' Day for its Carson City Chapter.

BNI said it generated over 6.2 million referrals for member businesses in 2009, which generated over $2.6 billion worth of business for its members.

The network, founded in 1985, will stage its visitors day at the Plaza Hotel and Conference Center on Thursday 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Chris Utley and other members of BNI will be joining us to share the BNI secrets to success.

County managers to speak at NNDA breakfast meeting

The county manager from Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Lyon and Storey counties will address the next Northern Nevada Development Authority meeting on May 26.

The event will be held at the Gold Dust West, 2171 Highway 50 E., in Carson City.

Cost is $20 for NNDA investors and $35 at the door. (No-shows will be billed $35.)
