PARAMUS, N.J. (AP) - Martin Laird, who started these playoffs at No. 95, ran off four birdies early in his round and kept bogeys off his card Saturday for a 6-under 65 to build a three-shot lead over Dustin Johnson and Jason Day.

Laird was at 12-under 201. A victory for the 27-year-old Scot would move him to No. 1, assuring him a spot in all four majors next year.

Tiger Woods will have something at stake Sunday, but it most likely won't be a trophy. He took a triple bogey after hitting his opening drive off the property and now has to play solid in the final round to finish among the top 100 in the standings and advance.

Johnson had a bogey-free 64.

LPGA Tour

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) - Overnight leader Michelle Wie shot an even-par 72 to fall into a tie with Jiyai Shin after a rainy day at the Canadian Women's Open.

Shin shot a 69 to erase the three-stroke lead Wie took into the third round at the St. Charles Country Club. Both were at 10-under for the tournament.

Na Yeon Choi of South Korea sank a 60-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to move into a tie for third at 6-under with fellow South Korean Jee Young Lee and Norway's Suzann Pettersen.

Champions Tour

SNOQUALMIE, Wash. (AP) - Bernhard Langer fired a 9-under 63 to take a one-shot lead over Nick Price after the second round of the Champions Tour's Boeing Classic.

Price struggled to make birdies on the back nine and finished with a 67, allowing Langer to overtake the opening round leader.

Langer made a 12-foot birdie on the 12th hole to pull within a shot of Price and move to 6-under on the round. With Price making pars, Langer continued his run to the top of the leaderboard. Birdies at Nos. 14 and 15 gave him the outright lead and a birdie at 18 moved him to 15-under par for the tournament.

Tom Pernice shot a 70 is in third at minus 10.

European Tour

GLENEAGLES, Scotland (AP) - Francesco Molinari shot a 4-under 68 to take one-shot lead over brother Edoardo after the third round of the Johnnie Walker Championship.

Francesco was at 10-under 206 at Gleneagles, Scotland, to move just ahead of his older brother, who had a 69.

Oliver Wilson (68) and Simon Dyson (70), Gregory Bourdy (70) and Julien Guerrier (73) of France and Stephen Gallacher (71) of Scotland were another shot back.

Amateur Championship

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. (AP) - Stanford's David Chung has ousted defending U.S. Amateur champion Byeong-Hun An in the semifinals of the 110th championship.

Chung rallied from 3 down after nine holes to beat An 1 up with a par on the 485-yard 18th hole Saturday. Chung won five holes on the back nine and benefited from an unlucky break for An on the 18th, when his second shot tucked behind a grass mound in a greenside bunker.

An was trying to become the first back-to-back champ since Tiger Woods won three straight from 1994-96.

In the other semifinal, Oklahoma State's Peter Uihlein won three holes in a five-hole stretch on the back nine to beat 18-year-old Patrick Cantlay 4 and 3.

Chung and Uihlein will play a 36-hole final on Sunday.
